for a while now ive been getting these messages when I try to run certain programs, does this mean that I need a newer version of the program or somrthing more serious.
:message: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows Applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. :message: thanx

Are these 16 bit apps? (maybe 8 bits?)
Have you tried 'run in 95 compatible' mode? (right click the prog and select properties)
Post back as to which programs youre trying to run.

I managed to change the compatibility of the setup file on the disk but it still doesn't work. In 95 + 98/Me it just comes up with another error and it doesn't work in NT or 2000. any other suggestions?
