Hi guys,
Win XP doesn't shut down. When I try to do so, I hear some noice as if it's going to shut down, but then it stops. I can still use my PC and run programs.
No mather what I do, (start/shut down or Ctrl-Alt-Delete), it doesn't close. The only option I have, is to close my PC with a reboot or to plug out the wire.

Plunging your PC into a cold shutdown really isn't the way to go (pulling the plug). 8-)
Do you see anything running in Task Manager's processes that shouldn't be there?

I guess you are connected to the Internet? Try the following: 1 disconnect from the Internet 2: Kill all processes (in Task Manager) with your username (except task manager and explorer) If you have any P2P software this is probably causing the problem. After this you should be able to shutdown no probs. Hope this helps - chris
