Same problem. If you use BlackIce defender
try to add one (or more) of these lines to blackIce.ini (sorry, I forget which they are)

[DebugLog]
debugLog.clear=INFORMATION DATABASE SPATCH FIREWALL
[Back Trace]
backTrace.nbnodestatus=enabled
[Settings]
view.events.threshold=informational
events.tab.set=SEVICON TIME EVENT INTRUDER COUNT
intruders.tab.set=SEVICON BLKSTATE INTRUDER
attacklist.listsize=1
[Generic]
report.connections=disabled
adapterICE_ADAPTER = true
restart.whenDeviceChg = false
startup.serialValue=c25ebd7d716a1eec0357b0edf3731d72

According to Microsoft, ( http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/TechNet/prodtechnol/winxppro/reskit/prmd_stp_hwpg.asp)the DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error message is about the most general error message you can get in Windows. There are severl discussion threads in this forum that deal with it. It can be caused by pieces of hardware, software and everything in between. I was getting that error frequently unitl I upgraded my video card drivers (nVidia Geforce2 Ti) and my motherboard drivers(Epox 8kha+). But in several discussions that I have seen Blackice has been the culprit and the problem goes away if it is uninstalled. Other people have indicated their sound cards, network cards and other random things as the culprit. I would suggest getting the latest drivers for all your hardware.
Good luck

Don't use BlackIce, it doesn't work!!! go to www.grc.com and test your computer to see if other people can hack you. ;)
