I've found a solution to an uncommon problem:
When I tried to install Windows XP Pro, (clean or upgrade) it would check the hard disk and claim that "setup has determined that drive c: is corrupt and cannot be repaired" which isn't true. There is one possible solutions that is to check your boot record with DriveImage, however this next one will probably work (it worked for me - for some reason it works if you use bootdisks!), it was emailed to me by Derek Jones:
--------------
The souloution is to format the hard drive and install xp from fresh.
In order to do this you need to download an xp bootdisk fromhttp://www.bootdisk.com/original.htm
And select the verion of xp you are installing (Home or PRO).
Download the file and run it. It will instruct you to insert 6 floppies
one after the other, These are your bootdisks.
Label them 1 to 6 respectivley.
Insert your xp cd and Insert floppy 1 and reeboot. After you get to the
6th disk you will be instructed to format your hard drive, once you have
done this xp will install perfectly.THIS THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT. I have had xp running since feb and its
cool.
