If you are trying to reinstall and want this number again, don't worry: just call Microsoft 24 x 7 and they'll give you a new number hwen you have finished the installation.
If you are trying to install on another PC then the number generated during the install will 99.999% be different than on the first PC and the confirmation number wouldn't work anyway.
You can also set WindowsXP to assume the online registration has been completed.
