win xp can't create paging file .!!!

anyone know this error and how to solve it ? my win xp can't create paging file. (hence no virtual memory)
it's not like i don't have enough space for paging file (i have plenty space left)

I had this happen to me once. If your pagefile is missing or beyond repair, then the only solution is to reformat.

I had this exact problem two weeks ago. I talked with Bill's boys @ Microsoft and they told me to download Intel Accelarator from Intel's website. Assuming you have an intel processor and then it worked fine it let me adjust my pagefile.-R

Try running chkdsk /f before doing anything radical.

I ran into this problem, and it turned out to be caused by some program I'd installed. For some reason it was messing up the registry. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was that caused it...but go back and figure out what software you've recently installed, and try removing it before you go all out and reformat.
Summary: I use Windows XP Professional. However I can not use gpedit.msc or services.msc, 'couse windows reports that it can't open this files and I must specify the program who can open this files. It worked ...
