Would appreciate any help in this matter. When I turn my computer on I get the Win XP logo then it's a blank page.I tried turning it on again and it gives me an option of Safe Mode. I got to Safe Mode, tried to system restore it but no luck. I figured I would wipe it out and do a disk recovery on it.I put the recovery disk in and rebooted and it gives me a option to boot from the disk. So I do that and I get everything on my computer. But when I take the disk out and reboot it gives me the blank screen again. So I have to leave the disk in to boot from. How can I get rid of the booting from the disk option. I did get to the BIOS page but didn't see anything disabled also not to sure what to look for, was looking for something that maybe would of said boot from disk only, so I could change it .Like I said not really sure what to look for. Any help in this matter would be appreciated. Thanks

This appears to be something unique to Gateway systems. If you don't get an answer here, I would suggest contacting Gateway tech support.

Going to Safe Mode,I was hoping it would go back to what ever happened, to make it boot up with disk only message. But when I did the restore it didn't go back or work. So no change it still gave me a blank screen, unless i use the recovery disk as a boot disk

Check your BIOS for boot options and ensure that you have selected the right hard drive to boot from.

Your BIOS boot sequence must include your boot hard drive as one of the bootable devices.

Normally boot sequnce would either be floppy, CDROM then hard drive or as I prefer it:
CDROM, Floppy then hard drive.
