i seem to get a blue screen message about twice a day, in which the computer automatically restarts, and the blue screen goes away too fast to read. it seemed to happen twice while using aol. at the same time however, my screensaver was running. could this be a problem? while installing, i encountered one blue screen error, which told me to shut off memory shadowing and something else. when the comp crashes, the only things running are aim, aol, and the screensaver-- specifically 3d aquaclock. what are your suggestions?

My machine did that to me once yesterday. It is usually on 24/7 and I never had the problem before. After it rebooted, I checked the cpu temp and it was well within normal. I am not using any screen saver nor AOL. It is a P4 1.7 system w/512meg. If you get an answer for this, I would be very curious.

I dunno but the symptoms sound like a lack of virtual memory,....
XP is a vir mem monster... USES SO MUCH!
so u might want to check that out... :)

I XP Professional and just updated the drivers for my Geforce 2 GTS to the Detinator ones from Nvidia.com I got the XP/2000 File and installed it. When it asked me to reboot...the blue screen popped and it automatically rebooted my pc...not good! So my pc is booting up..Once in the LOADING WIDNWOS XP ... screen after a few sec the blue screen pops up saying it stopped to prevent dmg. I believe it's the new Nvidia Video drivers that caused this problem. When i try running it in Safe mode...IT doesnt work!! Same thing happens.
What to do??!! Please email your solution to: jeffkou@hotmail.com
Thanks A Lot!

XP default setting is like that. When Blue screen comes, it will automatically reboot, and generate log file.To halt it when BS appears, you need to uncheck this settings in ADVANCED(Control Panel - Device MAnager)..

Has anyone found out why Win xp give you a blue screen and reboots? I'm have the same problem.
Melvin

If it is the Devilsown Version you need to upgrade Windows XP to Windows XP by running the setup again. None of your files will be lost and all your settings will remain the same. This happens when you do a full install, im guessing all you did that. So just upgrade it normal.
