i got a new pc, nicely loaded, hooked it up to cable internet access downloaded all updates etc, had to leave and go to work...it ran about 1 hour maX, when i returned, turned it on, began setting up programs etc...put on norton, found a welchia virus immediately!!! cleaned off the virus with symantec's tool but it gas been preserved in the hidden protected place where win xp saves info for the restore or rollback feature.....norton is denied access for deleting or quarentining it so everytime i start up i get a dozen msgs and warnings that i have this virus.....How do i delete the now protected virus file??

Turn off your restore points and run Norton again.
then you can reset the restore points after the virus is gone.

Hi, I got the W32.welchia.Worm and Norton coud not even touch it. You have to get to anothet computer with net access, go to Symantec (Norton's) website and look for that particular virus and download a tool to get rid of it. Then get it on your system and run it. It takes a while to run but it does the business. Note, before you run this special cure for the virus, you have to disable the restore options on your computer and if for any reason you have "Go Back" installed, you have to do the same to it, disable it. DO NOT FORGET TO DISABLE THEM. After the first run, reboot and run it again just as a safety measure. Good luck.
