on the win95 pc, pop in the xp disk, load the cd from my computer.
CHeck out the perform additional tasks option in the auto run.
Do you want to share files through the NIC's on the pc's?

THE AUTOMATIC WAY ...
On the Windows XP computer, go to Programs...Accessories...Network Setup Wizard. Run the Wizard by answering all of the questions. You will then be asked whether you want to create a Network Setup Disk for your other PCs. Provide a floppy disk and choose yes. Then, put the floppy disk into the Windows 95 machine and run setup.

THE MANUAL WAY ...
In the Windows 95 PC, set up Network Neighborhood by specifying a workgroup name. In the Windows XP PC, go to Network Connections and specify the same workgroup name.

---

For each file or folder you wish to share, right click on it and choose "Sharing and Security". Then check off "Share this folder on the network" and specify a share name. (This works with NTFS partitions on WinXP, at least). I believe that with Windows 95 you have to right click and then go to Properties and then choose the Sharing tab. I think.

I have tried two ways, but i still couldn't share the file and printer.

For the automatic way, when i run the disk in win95, it show a message that "it only support win98, win98se, winME and win XP"

In fact, my host computer has two O.S.,one is win2k advanced server, another is winXP. i succeed in sharing the printer and file in between win2k advanced server and win95(Client). But i failed it to run in winXP and win95(Client).

Do you have another suggested ways?

Thanks a lot!

Exactly how much of the Lan is up and running?

Does your XP machine have a firewall, say ZoneAlarm?

Have you assigned your network machines IP addresses?

Have you created any shares on the 95 machine?

What is displayed in Network Neighborhood & My network places on each machine?

1. One LAN
2. No firewall
3. I haven't assigned IP addresses to my PCs, it is automatically given by the router
4. I have shared D and E drive of win95 (Client) with win 2k advanced server(Host)
5. I can see the client computer and use the shared drive in winXP(host), but i unable to do the same thing in win95(client)

Help!
