Ive got a couple questions to ask hopefully i cna get some answers. First when I first login to a user on Win XP it takes a verry long time and also I get some error messages like it cant find a file. Is there anyway to go and delete something so it doesnt look for this file. I also get another thing that tries to install some sort of Win NT thing but when you try it wont even do anything it cancels itself. Is there some sort of start up setting where i can delete these two things. I downloaded WinPatrol but that only deletes programs.
My next problem is my command prompt is not working. When I go to start run CMD it goes to the screen the it just disappears before allowing me to do anything at all. Sometimes it will give an error message and the command prompt screen will be filled with smilley faces and different code like that. Id like to know how to fix this. I have tried running spyware programs like Search and destroy and ad aware but neither get anything away. Does anyone have any other ideas?
My final problem is the control alt delete screen. Once i type in the control alt delete command it wont go up to the normal screen it takle you to it doesnt do anything at all. All these problems together make me think something bad is wrong with my computer. Any help would be grea. Thanks

I would format the computer fresh. If that's a problem for you then it will be a pain to fix as well as risky.
Go to Start -> run -> type msconfig
On the last tab, you will see all the miscellaneous programs that are loading in start up.
-uncheck the ones you think are causing it.
-write it down.
-reboot
if it seems to fix your problem then go to
Start -> run -> type regedt32
-HKEY LOCAL MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft
-> Windows -> Current Version -> Run
- check to see if that file you wrote is listed there.
- delete it.
Then check
-HKEY CURRENT USER -> SOFT->MICRO->WIND->CURR VER-> Run
-same thing.If you see Run- with a dash , remove it.
Then go to Start- Run -> type msconfig
And set as normal boot.
-reboot.If problem persists keep trying.
If the program keeps reappearing after removal, then you need to lock the file from booting, boot again and remove .

You mentioned spyware scans, but did you also run an up to date virus scan?
If all scans are not of any help:
sLLs

Yes I did run a norton virus scan and I have it run every week a full scan and it fixes all those problems that it gets. Is norton not strong enough should I run another one. Also to the first response thanks for that it gave me to the screen I wanted for those star up programs.
