Comment: my windows xp always restarts without booting at all. i lost my win xp cd and the key, that means no recovery console.should i take the hard disk out and connect it into an other computer to save the data? what will happen with the programs like ms office, publisher etc.? will the another computer (also win xp) boot with my old HD? Please help. thanks

Reply: (edit)Contact the manufacturer and ask them to send you another CD. I find it amazing the number of people who lose or "misplace" such an important item. Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

Reply: (edit)i moved twice and lost it. now i am the one of the careless and life is for me more painless :( any other suggestions, becuase it was a second hand computer, and i do not have any invoices and data etc. thanks
