Windows updates from Feb 13 kept reminding me to update.
On Sat. Feb 17 I decided to update, download and install.
As soon as I did that, regardless of what Browser I used (IE7, Firefox, Netscape), the system would not connect to the Internet.
After lots of attempts, I decided to call a friend using the same ISP (Comcast) and they had no problems connecting.
I did a System Restore to a retore point before the Windows updates.
I had no problems since, but the patches are still waiting to be installed. Obviously the problem does not occur on all computers, but I am afraid to install them again. Anybody with bad or good experiences with these patches?

You are the first that I have heard of..but that really doesn't matter...

In most cases such as yours it is caused because of a failed download and it locks up the downloads...instead of doing the auto update..go to the update page and look for the newest updates to be installed there and download and install them that way.

Use Firefox as your browser and go to http://windowsupdate.62nds.com for an alternative to updating through Window's website.

Who gave you people access to a computer?
