win UP for a long time, say years

Specs: Windows XP
i need to build a pc that would run single monitoring .Net application. what distribution of windows should i use? i don't need performance, no network services, just be sure that the application will run without restart.

imho, you can never by sure, but perhaps Win2000 or 2003 server would work.

Think about UPS, btw...

you would base your OS choice on the .NET requirements. You would also want to choose an OS that is supported and into the near future. XP and W2K don't fall into that catagory.

Having an application run of years is iffy. Have you at least tested it for 6 months?

well i am not sure how much administration can i expect from our clients. maybe it would be ok to have a couple of restarts per year.
