NVIDIA Geforce4 MX 440
for Win XP Home Edition
--Hi all,
Please help out a fellow user...
Ever since the driver update with "Windows Update", the Nvida tabs' been gone from my Windows Display Properties. Keep in mind, this was after my update with Nvidia.com [so my driver was the latest prior to "Windows Update"]
With no avail, I used RollBack, SysRestore, and "Latest good settings." Then I decided to remove the "Windows Update" driver and all of Nvidia's drivers + anything else associated to them. I ended up reinstalling with NVIDIA's latest driver with still, no avail whatsoever, for the tabs. Yes, I must not re-format.
This is what I mean >

Crying for help,
WFps. VGA is unknown territory to me, but maybe that's associated to them tabs? I don't have the VGA installation disc... but if reinstalling VGA does help, please tell me.

It looks a bit compicated at first, but unless you have an nForce motherboard or any other nVidia product, you can be safe in the knowledge that every file it finds, is a remnant of display drivers and can be safely removed.

Right click the desktop and select properties. Then click settings followed by advanced. Click troubleshoot and make sure the slider is all the way to the right. Apply the setting and exit out of the display settings. Now go back and see if the tabs are there. If not install the latest driver from Nvidia and it should be back.
Hope this helps,
Sandman

first of all im running an fx5200 if i install my drivers that came with it and then decide to install the drivers from the microsoft update site when i go to the nvidia tab it says CATASTROPHIC FAILURE! lmao! so what i do is just not bother installing my drivers and dload the drivers straight from the m$ update but in the past i just deleted my old driver then installed the update and it worked fine. all i did was delete the grahics card driver directly from device manager you will know if its worked as your machine will boot up in 800x600 and look abit different.

Maybe a hint guys...
Hey, it's the author again. Thanks for all the help. But I already tried all your methods as well. Sorry, I guess they slipped my mind.
Although I did try something similar to Nasty File Remover I'm giving this one a go. But I must back up my computer with Norton Ghost first. So expect my report tomorrow.
Sandman's advice gave me a hunch. Instead, I clicked the button "Troubleshoot" which is the next to "Advance" And guess what? It was fixed!! But, without clicking Troubleshoot prior to Advance, it's back to the problem. The Troubleshoot window had to be open.
.... got any idea, guys?
