Comment: Dell support has gone over this problem with me by phone and they said that I needed a new Hard Drive, that would fix my problem, after installing the new drive the only thing it did was make it heaver. Before this all happened I was getting a message before booting saying Boot INI file has been corrupted or missing. I ran Spybot and found 7 spywares, they removed 6 a program called 2020 search was left and I had been trying to remove it form add/remove. it would not remove. The confuser frooze and when I rebooted it went into black screen with the Dell logo on it and the spec's for the confuser. F8 will not work or F10. The drives will not read a CD or a Floppy. The Keyboard says its disabled. Any suggestions will be more than helpful. Thnk you BillM BillM

Reply: (edit)Sounds like what ever happened it disabled your keys.. Boot into the BIOS and look for an option to enable your keyboard. Also if this is a desktop make sure your keyboard and mouse is pluged into the port correctly.. If it is a wireless keyboard make sure you have fresh batteries..

Reply: (edit)Not sure on dell.. as soon as you turn on your PC on start tapping one of these keys. Either: ESC, F1, F5, F9, Insert or delete key. This will get you into the BIOS.

Reply: (edit)I made a set of boot disks for xp sp2 set-up and ran them in the DOS prompt. They all ran OK and went into a blue screen giving me a choise either fix the boot or reinstall. I tryed the fix and ran into a bunch of DOS commands that I did not understand so I was not able to use this choise. So I went back and installed the floppy disks again and used the other choise. I came to a blue screen that said install xp Home Edition Sp2 CD. The only CD I have is and Ugrade that says xp Home Edition and it only includes Sp1 Does anyone know where I can get S2 and how will I be able to get it into the computer. I also get a message saying NTLDR is missing. I have no have no idea what this means. Any suggestions would be more than helpful. Thanks BillM
