Subject: WIFI: WDS or Access point?OS: multipleCPU/Ram: 2400AMD/1.0gbModel/Manufacturer: Me |
Comment: Question: How should I go about extending my wifi from point a to b more efficiently; WDS or Access point?. Which device/router one would recommend?. Notes: I have successfully setup wds with buffalo and levelone routers and very happy with the security functions (mac addressing) and the coverage? please correct me or suggest if anything would be better for the purpose on extending wifi signals to the entire house.

Reply: (edit) cntraltdel, if you're only concerned with within one house, they offer amplifiers which will strengthen your signal. If you're talking about going from your house to a neighbor a block or so away, a repeater just like HAM radio operators use will do the job. HTH. Ed in Texas.
