Howdie folks,
For the past 30 minutes, i've been trying to get my computer to boot correctly. It started perfectly first time, i was happily browsing the internet when it decided to disconnect me. At this point i tried resetting my internet, which led me to restarting my computer. Just after the windows XP loading screen, it would crash, just a black screen, the machine didnt seem to be loading.
I was able to enter safe mode, scan for virus/spyware with Norton and Ad-aware, and removed the little it found, however it still didnt boot correctly. My last option was to take out the internet's USB cable, and surprisingly, the computer booted and seems to be working ok now. I'm just curious as to what may have caused the computer to experience problems, internet and the computer seem to be both working fine now, it's just odd.

Regards.

I agree with street1. But it appears to be a registry or boot.ini problem. I experianced one duing a baad download some days ago, but after some restarts it started up as usual. Don't know what makes it good again.
