why xp doesn't support some games?

every time i play the game like king of the road, midtown madness, europe racer...etc why i need to download the patche for each game and it will be run proberly, if i m not download the patches, the game won't work....please explain why???

Because the games where written for windows 98...
If you wanna write a game for a platform it will not work on other platforms.. if it would we could play playstation games on dreamcasts (without bleem) and PC games on Macintoshes and amiga games on PC etc etc...

After downloading Gaming Zone I can enter a room once and the next time it doesn't open, so I go into another room and play there. When all the rooms have been used once I have to redownload the Gaming Zone and start all over. Is there something I can do to change this problem?
