Ok, I got my vortex2 running in XP thanks to vortexofsound. But why the heck is the sound so low. Even with everthing turned up all the way. Is there anyways to make it louder?

U may have tried this already, but:L

Double click on the little speaker in the bottom corner, go to Option, Properties......check ever little button in there.....this should allow you to see if everything is turned up

Bye!

An earlier computer came with a cheap pair of speakers (no volume control). You might want to invest in a pair of 20-30 dollar speakers that have a volume control. It should help boost what windows is sending out. If you already have those kind of speakers, then I'm not too sure. Good Luck

I had the same problem with my vortex2. Double click on the small speaker icon in the bottom right corner to bring up the volume controls. Select 'Properties' from the option menu and select the AC97 controls. One of the volume sliders under this option controls the balance from front to back. On mine the balance was biased towards the rear speakers. Move the slider to the middle and you'll get normal sound.

Jim thanks a lot, i had the same problem but i didn't care because i already was happy of having kind of sound because as you know, there wasn't supposed to be any sound, at least this is what i read about vortex2. So thank you very much.

Yes, thanks Jim. I too had the exact same problem with my vortex2 and that adjustment to the AC97 slider fixed it perfectly.
