my computer is so slow that it has began to concern me. it takes time to load up at startup and also i have realised that it has a low commit charge which has a limit 233388k , which i presume is very low. i don't know , how can i increase this commit charge. because i have seen on several of my friends computers that the limit commit charges on their computers is around 580000k. the reason why i think this has something to do with why my computer being slow is when, the total commit charge is at about 160000k it becomes slow but when it lower like 100000k its a bit faster. please if there is anyone who can help me, you would be greatly appricieated.

Your running windows xp with only 96megs of ram?
You need at least 128 to run xp properly.

96MB is too little RAM. If this is correct, you need to get more RAM. 256MB or more is best. If you can, go with 512MB.

Other things you can do are to get rid of all your visual effects and the Windows XP theme (revert to the "classis" gray).

I would not run a computer with shared video. If you can afford a 32 meg AGP video (ie. eVga brand-inexpensive), disable the on-board video (if not auto sensing) then you'll have all your 128 Meg for XP.

How do you share video memory? I just upgrades to an ATI radeon 9000 pro agp card (128 mb) and My 32 mb card is integrated. Could I add that not used 32mb to my 256 mb of ram?
