I have a msi- pro 2 Mobo and i have a Maxtor d740x ata133,I had it on the mobo IDE till to day .I get a moxtor PCI 133 card. the the PCI card it telling me the HDD is in mode 6, but i have tested with HD tech and HDDbench, and there was not any difference in the sped at all... the new card did just as good the the mobo did. 43.MB p/s and that is it. why is this ATA133 should be faster.

Welcome to getting suckered into the world of marketing. It cracks me up that the current ATA 100 standard is not even up to par. Compare an ATA 66 to an ATA 100 and the difference is very, very, very, small. Anyways, it is to much to go into but at the current time true ATA 100/133 speeds are not going to happen, at least not on a IDE chain.

Laters,

KTTD
