Where is it showing 16 bit.

Windows XP is a 32 bit operating system and will only run on a 32 bit computer.

Are you sure you are not looking at 16 bit colour depth in the video configuration.

Review your device settings in device manager. Odds are you still have drivers to install for your mainboard

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

Yes, Stuart, you are right..My Font size is large and I went into display to change it...The drop box in color config only has 16 Bit...I cannot adjust my resolution control and I also do not have any Sound...I go into try and adjust my Volume control and cannot even access them...They are there but "Hiding"...Thank you, Stuart, obviously, I am not a Computer Wiz....Thank you very much for your assistance...Jim...

You are probably looking at 16 colours, not 16 bit. There is little to chose between 16 bit and 32 bit colour.

AS Wander says, you need to install drivers for audio, video and chip-set drivers. You should get these from the system manufacturer if it is an OEM computer or from the manufactures of the individual components if it is a self built computer..
