Try to update my Office 2000 with Office xp and office 2003 updates. It keeps telling me I need these for security. I allowed it to update the other day, then when it installs it askes for sn for 2003. I put in my sn for 2000 and it says no good. Anyone know what the story is here?

2003 and 2000 are completely diff. you cannot update one with other ones updates. uninstall win 2000 and reinstall.

They maybe trying to force and upgrade and not an update..since there is not any continuing support for 2000 version...navigate to windoes upate and choose to use "custom" instead of "express"
let them find all the updates and then click on the '+' sign on the update you do not want and there will be a small box to tick to "not show this update again"
That should stop it from happening again

You will find Office 2000 is still supported for the time being but you should let Office Update scan for the needed updates & only download those. Obviously only Office 2000 updates will do, not Office XP or 2003. I think one of the posts is confusing Windows Update with Office Update.
