Why does my desktop shut off?

March 3, 2010 at 00:07:16
Specs: Windows XP Professional, Pentium(R) 4 1.7ghz - 512 ram
My desktop computer shuts off when I don't use it for a while. When I push the power button it comes back on like it has been hibernating or sleeping? It loads real fast...but, doesn't appear to use the regular Opening screen. I don't know if this is a problem or just the way it should work.

Check the Power settings and see if Standby or Hibernation is enabled.

Thanks...I have it set to go into Hibernate, after 30 minute with no activity. I guess I am going to leave it at that. I just wanted to make sure that there was no problem. Thank you very much for help.
