The past week, my system's volume keeps getting turned off and not by me. I usually
don't notice it until I try to play a song or video and there is no sound. Now that
I am aware it is happening, I check at boot up and it is always turned off. But now,
at boot up, when I check itf, I move the slider back up but it slides back down again.
Over and over again I move the volume slider up and it slides right back down again
like it is fighting me. Then, after a few minutes of this tug o war, I can slid it
up and it stays. Somethings up I know but I can't locate the problem. System mechanic
recently found a keylogger on my system and removed it. And Avast found a trojan
in real time and isolated it about a week ago. Put it in the chest and I deleted
it. But I always run scans with spybot and adware and they always come up clean.
Avast Anti Virus software is running and so it Spyware blaster and Spyguard. Plus
nolop whatever. Now I have Zone Alarm firewall. I mean geez. What more do they want from me? :)
Anyhow, any information on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

AngelinaR, SWAG, sounds like a trojan to me. Maybe you need to use a different scanner? Try A² @: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4...
Things are in a constant state of flux as new threats appear all the time so be sure to update before running.

As a follow up, the Asquare scan found something. A folder that was recreated in my program files that I deleted a few weeks ago. It's a software I uninstalled a few weeks. Unfortunately I only just found out it is known to have spy/malware. It's called Torrent101. Anyhow, Asquare found the folder and I deleted it. I'll have to see if it recreates itself again at boot up. Maybe be the source of the problem. Thanks again.
