I've had this IBM THINKPAD 570 for a long time and I never had any problems, lately everytime when I turn it on, I get a white screen. The LCD turns completely white, before it turns white it flickers like it wants to show the IBM logo and the BIOS then it turns all white I can also hear that it gets to my windows desktop but the white screen stays there. Its like having something in front of you that wont let you view your screen, so I've been closing the LCD and make the computer go into Stand by then open the LCD back again until it gets to my windows desktop.
The more I do this, the worse it gets. Now even if I restart the laptop it will show that white screen again.
The LCD its in good condition, its still looks like new. It doesn't get any hot and no bad pixels.
Does anybody knows why I get this white screen everytime I turn on my laptop.
I posted this message a few days ago in the Hardware forum and I didn't get any answers, so I hope I can get an answer in the XP forum.
Thanks.

If it was me, i would reinstall the OS in the hope that it might be a driver problem instead of the dreaded hardware failure.
Best

says;"LCD's failures (white LCD screen) normally bad electronics inside the LCD PCB driver we repair for $85
(white LCD screen) check to see if your system board is still sending 3.3 volts to the LCD, if no Volts, I can repair your system board by adding a few transistors and a zenor diode.""Before sending your LCD in for repair, check your Laptop is worth repairing, by connecting an external monitor and hitting Fn + internal external display key, (normally one of the F keys, remember to hold down Fn and the F key at the same time) this process will check the video, is sending an analog signal out to the external monitor which lets you know the system board is ok."
"Also check presence of FAINT digital data on blank displays. Example: when backlight is out or faint digital data is showing. If not present you may have a bad digital signal cable or digital video chip on the system board or maybe the LCD itself is just bad."
