i am new to using a pc and was wondering which is better: MSN, AOL or internet explorer? thanks so much,

If you mean which ISP is best, I would not go with either MSN or AOL. Get a good local one if possible. Internet Explorer is not an ISP, it's just a web browser (and the best browser too).

It seems that you mean web browsers. And the best of the all and the fastest is Opera. It's free and you can get it at www.opera.com.
You will still need to install another browser
preferably Internet Explorer for a simple reason that the Microsoft web site does not always display correctly with Opera. This is a minor inconvenience. If you give Opera a shot you will soon find out what I'm talking about.Good luck

Also make your home page to google.com, this will speed up you start up page , there are many good ones to choose for your homepage but i find googl.com is the best

Regardless of what you ment(browsers OR internet providers)AOL and MSN are not the best choice.
If you can afford it go with your local cable co or phone providers high speed access. If you can't then get a local dial up provider. Then download and use Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera or try all of them to view the Internet, whatever suits your personal preference.

from JL, quote " Internet Explorer is not an ISP, it's just a web browser (and the best browser too)"
Just another mindless Windoze drone! As for jd who posted this message, I'll tell him that if he can't change his beloved Windoze for a better OS, he should at least try Opera or Mozilla.

You folks are missing the point. This person stated they are new to PC's. AOL and MSN are geared to newbies. If I had to choose one to go with I most likely would lean towards MSN than AOL.
Now once you get the hang of the internet you might want to switch to a real ISP. AOL has already been viewed as a Online Provider no a true ISP which MSN is to be honest. You don't have to use there fancy software to connect to there service. AOL you do and AOL does make a lot of changes to the Windows OS without your knowledge.
As far as those addressing the brower issue. I tried Opera when it first came out, was to clumsy and it sucked. Same thing with Netscape and all the web other GUI's. IE in my opinion rocks and it is the best broswer is and is still 100% FREE and I don't care what you say about secruity hole this and that. It still kick's butt.
Laters,
KTTD
P.S Excuse any typo's

You are correct KTTD however I have seen too many newbies get suckered into 2 yr or more contracts that they end up hating after about 6 months.
That was what prompted my "stay away" message.
