Which Heat Sink Fan Do I Need???

First off, on one of my computers it has an AMD XP1700+ CPU which I have had a CoolerMaster heatsink fan for years with no problems although it sounds like a jet. The fan itself measures about 2.25" x 2.25"x 1.0" deep with a metal cage covering the fan blades and four screw holes that attach the fan to the heatsink which measures about about 2.25" x 2.25"x 2.0" deep. The problem seems to be a buzzing noise comming from the fan, probably a ball bearing, so I wanted to switch the fan out to another preferably quieter fan and I am unsure which fan will fit and provide more than enough cooling to the CPU, I do not know which is the appropriate socket size number and most the fans that I find seem to measure 2.75" x 2.75" x 1.0" deep. Thank you.
