Too many biased opinions. Try a few and make up your own mind which you prefer. Firefox seems to be flavour of the month right now. I'm using it and haven't found anything too disagreeable about it. KTTD (Forum Moderator) gave it a try last month but couldn't get the fonts to work the way he liked.

Teach him to fish and his wife will never forgive you.

I use Opera,no probs,fast,tabbed browsing,popup blocker,cache cleaner,cookie cleaner....

I use Firefox. It's stable, fast, open source, has a built-in popup blocker and offers tons of extensions, including an ad blocker and (!!) a calendar and a Tetris clone (!!!) etc.
AvantBrowser, Maxthon, etc. are all just IE with a skin on top, albeit a really useful skin. I prefer Maxthon slightly over Avant.
IMO, Opera's good, but it's shareware with a slightly annoying ad. I think there's a program that allows you to remove the ad in older versions of Opera, but not the newer ones.
OffByOne is REALLY basic, I mean something like NCSA Mosaic. It's OK for emergencies or *cough*private stuff*cough* since it doesn't keep track of visited sites...
