Hello,

Well I wanna get something that will keep my pc safe, my older bor "explores" the internet & never erases his tracks properly, he just runs adaware & assumes that the pc should be ok... My trial anti virus is expired, so is zone alarm pro. I'm in high risk of infection & need protection ? :) Any particular software/s in mind?

THNX

Extract from link below, I use Avast myself.
If you are using SP2, XP firewall is fine.

Security is a total package. It involves many best practices to include A/V, spyware tools, firewall and don't forget many XP settings and practices that limit your risk. See the MS pages and other for ideas on XP best practices.

I'd install Zone Alarm's free firewall.
The XP firewall is not a bi-directional firewall.
You could use Avast or AntiVir free for an antivirus.
Ewido AntiMalware is an excellent free scanner.I'd install that for sure.

I wouldnt recommend running both AVAST and AVG. Only choose one Anti-virus and firewall program.Do not run more than one of each. You are just asking for trouble if you do. My setup here is Zonealarm pro and Avast.I also run SpywareGuard and Spyware blaster.
