Where does Outlook store the address book? Looking for the path. Not Outlook Express, Outlook. Using XP Pro.

c:/documents and settings/(your username)/application data/Microsoft/address book.

Note that the app data folder is hifdden by default so you will need to set windows to show hidden files.

Since you asked, no, I didn't. There was no Address Book folder in the path you suggested. As I posted a little ways down on the page, now I'm trying to find the location of the Contact List, which I understand is different from the address book. I'm getting all this info third hand from another tech where I work. Thanks for any help.

you need the *.pst file. The address book IS located in the directory that I referenced. If yours isn't then it has either been moved or deleted.

Is Outlook setup for an exchange or for a pop mail server. If it setup for exchange then the file recides on the Exchange server and is not contained in a single file. If Outlook is using a pop mail server then it should be contained in the .pst and it could be any where on the hard disk. Try a search for *.pst.

I'm also looking for the addresses, app. Outlook not allways stores them in the addressbook mentioned by Mike. Mine is as empty as it could be. So, I'm looking for the alternative type of document that may contain my addresses/contact, whatver called.
