IIS is not included with Home Edition.

I believe you posted the same question earlier for IIS but in regards to the Pro version.

Hi
IIS is included with XP Pro.

Go to Add Remove Programs in Control Panel

Click on Add/Remove Windows Components

IIS is listed there.

I've never had a real opinion about Microsoft but now I'm convinced they are idiots. Why wouldn't they include IIS in Home Edition systems - systems that are being bought by unsuspecting developers? By not including IIS they are actually driving people away from using ASP for development purposes which ultimately supports Microsoft's cause. Unfortunately for them I will now be converting to PHP for development and will never buy a microsoft product again. piss me off.

Amazed, I shared your view on Bill's stupidity, but then again there is something else to consider: a lot of IIS server out there are prey of Red Code and friends and do contribute in spreading the viruses even further.. so maybe not having IIS on a family pc is not that bad idea. Said that consider that I do have a WinXP home edition laptop and it is driving me nuts! There are some choices one can consider, risky like using win2k dlls or comfier like upgrading to XP pro, I am trying the lot, hopefully I will find a solution BEFORE having to fork out more money to B Gates.
