Specs: Windows XP
I have bought a second-user pc running XP for which I don't have the Admin password. I propose takeing the HD from the PC and setting it up as a second drive on another PC. Hopefull I can log onto this drive and delte the admin password - does anyone know where it may be found ?

Go to google & enter Forgot the Administrator's Password. There are several methods that can be used to reset it.

It is in the sam database.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

It's easier and quicker to remove the battery (desktop) or get a password reset program than to get a copy of the program to open the sam and decode it.

I think you will be better off inserting an xp disk and getting a fresh start.
If not you end up dealing with all the crap the previous owner had on it.
