where does wininet.dll go?

I have been having problems with wininet.dll, just recently it sais it does not exist, I downloaded one from the internet now I just need to know where to put it, can anyone help me?

Now I am getting all sorts of errors.... is there any way to fix this without using my XP disk, I have mis-placed it and cannot find it....

This application has failed to start because WININET.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. it has happened with ie explorer, aim yahoo icq and msn

great that ur problem got fixed. I have an similar error.
The error message is same as yours "This application has failed to start because WININET.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." And with me also it has happened with ie explorer,
Now after installing wininet.dll, it is giving another error "The Procedure entry point SHRegGetValueW could not be located in the dynamic link library SHLWAPI.dll"
Can anyone help on this. Your help is appreciated
