In Firefox select "Tools>Options>General Tab. Here you check the box "Save Files To' and you can designate the Desktop or a folder of your choice. To answer your question I believe they are save to "My Downloads". (I may be wrong but someone will correct me if I am.

Files are downloaded to either a default location shown in the Firefox settings, or to a location you manually choose (or chose in the past) yourself when a window pops up when you click on the download link.

If you can click on the same link in the email again, do that and pay attention to where it's wanting to be being placed on the hard drive if a window pops up when you click on the download link.

If you don't see such a window pop up

- look for the default location downloads go to in the Firefox settings.

- place your cursor over the link in the email - you will often see the name of the file in the bar on the lower part of the screen at the end of the line showing the link (URL) of where the file is.
If you see that, copy down the name of the file, e.g. xxx.jpg, then search for that file name on your C drive.
OR - RIGHT click on the link, choose Copy link location, or similar, then open Notepad and RIGHT click on the blinking cursor, select Paste to place the link there - the name of the file is probably at the end of the link e.g. xxx.jpg - search your C drive for that.
