I encountered a problem when I tried to copy a disc: It always says something like the drive is reserved to Drag-to-Disc kernel. I tried rebooting many times and it was still the same. So I reinstalled my WinXP. Another problem bothered me. The Ethernet Controller is always with a question mark in the Device Manager. I think I have installed all I could from the CDs with my machine. But I still can not get on the internet through Ethernet. Please help. Thanks.

You obviously have internet access to post this question so do this. Go to the Dell site. Look up your particular model of computer and then download the driver for the ethernet controller. Put it on a disk, take it back to your machine and install it.
Let us know if you are successful.

The driver is on your restore disk, but will not automatically install. When you insert your Dell driver restore disk, it should autorun and ask to install a program that searches your system and gives you a list of drivers to install, including one for your NIC. Pay very close attention to how and where the driver gets copied to, because you will have to manually install them through Device Manager. You will select the ethernet controller listed under the question mark, select update driver, then browse to the location on your harddrive where the Dell program copied them to. The directory will start with a number and will in no way look like your NIC drivers are there, but they will be.
Just pay close attention to all the instructions that come up when the restore disk autoruns and you should do OK.
