Specs: xpsp1, amd-4-1024

When I used D:\I386\winnt32 /unattend to install windows last week, it asked me where a usb driver was, since it did not give me the choice of xp or with the sp1 that driver was with sp1 so I could not access it, the only other thing I have is a disk from mfg and how do I get that into windows?xp

G'day Sue, I advised you last week, re the unattend install.

Start > Control Panel > Add Hardware, go through the process & eventually it will ask for your disk.

Thanks Johnw, as it turned out there was no way anything like that would work I did it and 1/2 thru the installation big blue error lots and lots of errors then I got locked out saying I did not activate windows then licence no good, I took my computer apart pushed on all the wires to make good contact formated and did another clean install and fortunately it made it thru with out errors, got everything installed and ok up to sp1 and security and put my disk in to install Nero and crunch, my cdwr when haywire and so I guess that has been a lot of my trouble, says it has a bad block I wondered why I kept getting errors about memory because everything I put in there did not seem to be reading or writing correctly, I will try your way next time, thanks.

Another point Sue, I find the below better than Nero.

CDBurnerXP Pro
CDBurnerXP Pro works on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP systems. Freeware.
Install without .NET

I have Insurance on my computer from Comp USA and this is the second cdr rw to go out on this computer the rw drive is only 8 months old and I don't use it that much but for another year I still get hardware for free, I just have to wait for them to order it and when they bring a new cdr rw I get a FREE copy of Nero, I have had 5 and 6 so maybe this time I will get version 7? Do you ever check the Hardware forum please read my post here http://www.computing.net/hardware/wwwboard/forum/38688.html see if you can answer also http://www.computing.net/security/wwwboard/forum/16766.html Thanks again for the cd software link, will keep it, just incase I need it.

Read your other posts Sue, I think waiting for the new cdr rw & seeing what happens, is the next step.
