I was building my computer then when i got done when i put a disc to install a program it would freeze up my computer but sometimes it would work(rarely) or even after windows xp is loading up and when it is finishing loaded at the start it freezes also... thanks for the help

If you want help you are going to have to give a better description of your system (it's components and specifications) and the exact problem. eg Will it boot into bios? Did you check all connections? Have you checked CPU temperature? Have you run any tests on RAM? Did you overclock anything? Did you need to manually set any motherboard jumpers/switches to suit your CPU/RAM? What powersupply do you have? Did you benchtest the motherboard before installing it in the case?
Too little info...too many possibilitiesI used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Sorry. I have a LANParty UT ATX Socket 754 Motherboard from DFI. The processor that I am running is a AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000 with 2.0 ghz. My RAM is at around 1024 and my friend installed it for me because he made his own computer.

Having just re-read your question it seems there is an operating system present. Tell me was XP installed on this system after it was built or did you transplant the already installed operating system drive from another PC?
