Every time I defrag I end up with one file that won't defrag. It's named /hiberfil.sys and it's 512 megabytes which, coincidently or not, is how much memory I have.
The backgound story: I was having freeze-ups that I could only get out of with a hard re-start (i.e. the reset button didn't work). I had to reach behind and turn off the power supply switch, wait a minute, and turn it back on. One time after doing this I got a "Warning! CPU has been changed..." message during the boot. I kept trying to re-boot but I just kept getting this message. After a whole bunch of rigamaroll trying to figure out what the problem was, I noticed that it said "hit F1 to continue" at the bottom of the screen. I did and it booted up seemingly normally. The computer seems to work just fine. In fact even better. It doesn't freeze up all the time and the couple of times it has (during a defrag) the reset button works. But I still get this "warning! CPU..." message anytime I restart wether or not it froze or just shut down normally. I just ignore it and hit F1. Anyway, this /hyberfil.sys file that won't defrag showed up right after this happened, making me think its related. Could it be?PeterF
