I've always tried to compress files but the percentage of compressing is about at 96% from the original one. How come files I found on the net can be compressed as much as 50% from the original? I'm trying to send per exemple a mp3 to my friends by e-mail is it really impossible?!?

Music files are practiclly un-compressable.You wont find a utility that will shrink them much.I assume the issue your having is that it is too large for the persons mail box.The easiest thing to do is use a program like Winrar or Winzip self extracting utility. This will break it up into a few pieces that can be put back together on the other end.
Go to>>>> www.downloads.com
and search for "file splitting".There are a few freebies that also do this well.

I use WinAce, it probably has the tightest compression of all the apps I've used, also it will handle more different file compression types...................
