What version of Windows should i install?

Specs: Windows XP
Hello i apologise if i`m on wrong category and i
didn`t know where should i post my question.
So i have a Pentium 4 dual core 3ghz with 2gb
ddr2 ram and nvidia 260 gtx gpu. I`m in doubt
what version of windows should i use xp, vista
or 7 as i use my pc mostly for gaming and
internet. And in your answer i need detailed
explanation should that version you would
suggest be 32 or 64 bit so i can get out most
of my PC configuration?

skaker, With dual core 2 gb RAM I suggest you better go for Windows 7 32 bit for additional memory and advanced graphics .

1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

Thanks for your input. I did install windows 7 x86 but somehow i
feel that windows xp x86 works smoother / faster...or its just in
my imagination.For example double click for opening drives, or
folders, somehow looks like it is faster on windows xp or i`m not
used to windows 7 yet...also i didn`t notice any graphics / speed
difference in 3d games. On the other side i know that windows 7
manages memory better and that windows xp is getting obsolete
os. Still i think windows xp is not for throwing away and it is
performing very good on my PC.
