Comment: Hello everyone? I am curious... I was installing Windows XP last night, booted from the CD-ROM and it asks how I would like to partion my hard drive? Any suggestions? For now, I just left it as it was, which is FAT32. Is NTFS faster? What has been your experiance with this? I used to have 98 installed. This is for my Sony Viao laptop. It's a 650Mhz with 350MB of RAM installed. However, now that I have left my partition FAT32, it only sees my processor as a 592Mhz! Any suggestions? By the way, it's Windows XP Professional? Thanks folks!

Reply: (edit)ntfs is faster if u are using it as file server, with largs files such as mp3s etc it will be slower security with ntfs is better since u can password protect files & folders if u want to change from ntfs without formating, u have to use partition magic 7
