I just want something a little faster than 850MHz. If I can even upgrade? Any help is very much appreciated!BIOSTAR G965 Micro 775

The ability to upgrade your CPU depends on it's form factor. The first generation of Athlon processors used a slot A form, similar to Pentium II and III. If you have one of these CPU's then your upgrade options are somewhat limited. If you have a socket 462 then you have some room to upgrade. Download the manual for your motherboard from the ASUS web site and it will tell you how high a CPU you can upgrade to.

I am not having any luck on ASUS website finding a manual. What model number would it be? Is it listed in the specs I posted above?

The HP Pavillion will use an ASUS OEM board, specially made for HP, therefore you should be perusing HP support for details of your PC.

You can go up to a 1.2 ghz more than likely, thats the ends of that processor family. You might be able to go higher but doubtful your board will support it.

Thank you for your response. I think I would be better off going with a newer mobo & pros. but I thought i check. Thanks
