I recieved a file without an extension, I can't figure out the extension. Here is the first chunk of the file as seen from notepad: MZF ÿÿ ¸ @ € º ´ Í!¸LÍ!This program requires Microsoft Windows. $

MZF is the signature of the file. look for MZF on google. I'm not sure what it is though, download a hexdecimal viewer and open it, there might be more ascii code to be seen down the middle somewhere.
all computer files have their own signature, like BMP has BM as the beginning of the file.

MZ is an executable like *.exe, *.dll, *.ocx, *.drv and *.vxd etc... The F I have no idea but like the BM for bitmaps they can also have another charactor.
Scroll down to the bottom of the file and it might have a name and version etc...
If it's saying the word 'program' then it may well be an *.exe, maybe a compressed one.
Just doodle with it by adding an extension to see what happens. As Nelson suggests, perhaps a Hex Editor might shed some light on it.
