I just recently purchased a gateway and when i go to windows update it says updating new version or some crape and then it says click update and i do that then it says click update again and this process just repeats itself.

I have found that hardly any of the updates available at the update site succesfully install on my computer. About 80% do not. I am not sure if this is my computer telling me that I don't actually need these updates or whether it is something else.
