Hi. I was wondering what the file ftxiti.exe in autostart is? Since friday night my computer at home has been booting up normally, but either instantly being slow or slowing down after a while.
I was wondering if this file is the reason since I have searched around the net and found nothing.
I have no problems when starting up in safe mode or when I uncheck all services and autostart applications.

I will do that with an online scan, since my Norton subscription has expired.
I have scanned it with only Ad-Aware and it cleaned up other things such as cookies.
But I can't find anything on the virus list at Norton. I will search on other manufacturers and see if I come up with something.
Also, Norton usually gets a red cross over it and displays a message (that I need to update and renew) but sometimes it takes minutes for it to load. I think that what's causing the hole slowdown but I'm not sure yet.

Getting rid of Norton and replacing it with a free alternative (e.g. AVG, Avast) will give you a noticeable performance increase. By now, the whole world should be aware of it's gluttony when it comes to resources. Only an idiot would install it, these days.
As for the file you asked about, disable it using MSConfig, then reboot. See how your computer runs without it. If something doesn't work properly, re-enable it.
Have you installed any software recently?
Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

I get that alot about Norton. It was pre-installed and I'm thinking of uninstalling it and get AVG.
If that ftxiti.exe is truly a virus/trojan, doesn't mean that it wont make a difference if I uncheck it?
The only thing I've installed recently is Java (sun) and K-Lite Codec pack. But I don't think I'll be using these so often so I'm thinking of uninstalling them.
I've also done a regclean and a system restore.
Thing is, why didn't this problem occur earlier? The subscription ended in July, why now?
Thanks guys! :-D

Keep the latest Sun java and uninstall
older versions in control panel add/remove
