Ummm . . . this is maybe the wrong forum to ask that sort of question in, mate!! If the term "boot disk" eludes you, you could be in for a rough ride . . .
Basically, a boot disk is any sort of disk (whether it be a floppy disk, hard drive or cd) that has program files copied to it that are sufficient to start a computer and get it to the stage where you can interact with the computer (whether it be at a DOS command prompt or from a Windows interface).
In the context of your question, a boot disk (most likely some sort of floppy boot disk) would start your computer and get it to the stage where you could re-partition or reformat your hard-drive, and then reload software. www.bootdisk.com are a great source of pre-made boot disks - i'd suggest a Windows ME boot disk, as that has built-in cd-rom drive support.

this happen to me. nothing at all would work, so I unpluged my pc. waited two mins. pressed the power, and it turn on and repaired its self. let the pc do the work. less stressful.
