Yes. It's best not to make assumptions about what the problem is.

What are the symptoms of your problem, and what makes you think that it is the ethernet hardware rather than a software error or misconfiguration?

If you are absolutely sure that the hardware is faulty then the answer, as wanderer suggests, is pretty obvious.

Look at ipconfig /all and look at device manager. consider drivers roll back if that is what caused it or even a system restore point to a time when it worked.
