I recently bought a hp pc. When I got it, it was of course loaded with a ton of trash and ads. So I copied over the old operating system with winxp pro. hp refuses to help unless I run a system restore and put all the trash back on my pc. Win xp pro failed to detect a few things on my motherboard(Asus A7N8X-LA). In particular, the ethernet controller, nvidia nforce audio device,sm bus controller and the usb controller. I went to the asus website and then only had drivers for the a7nx8x delux. I'm guessing that these drivers would work fine with my motherboard. The problem is, when scrolling through the different things winzip has found in the file I can't tell what in the hell I need. It would be great if anyone could help.

I can tell you most of the drivers, all except the USB.
Heres a hint, I am assuming that since you have restore disks you have a CD writer.
Load the crap back on. THEN copy to CD c:\hp folder.
All your drivers except USB are in there.
otherwise your drivers are as follows.
ATI Radion 9200
Conexant HSF V92 56K PCI Modem
NVIDIA nFORCE MCP Networking Adapter
Realtek AC'97 AUDIO
HP m703 Color Monitore-mail is woodyrj@eircom.net, I am a computer technician, and like you hate crap, thats the only reason I am responding! Let me know if you need anything else, or how helpful you found this!
